Where It Goes

Every shilling goes directly to a student.

The bootcamp is free for all 50 participants. Everything — internet access, tools, mentorship, hosting, prizes — is covered by partners and donors. Here is exactly what your contribution funds.

$10 or more

Any Amount

Goes directly into the student support fund — internet data, learning materials, and access to tools for participants who need it most.

$150 – $499

Bronze

Funds one student's internet access and all learning resources for the full 12 weeks. Your name on the bootcamp website and acknowledgement at the final showcase.

$500 – $999

Funds a full project team's tools, cloud hosting, and research materials. Logo on website and all bootcamp materials plus social media recognition.

$1,000 – $1,999

Sponsors a full track — 7 to 14 students. Named track sponsorship, speaking slot at the final showcase, and early access to recruit top graduates.

$2,000 +

Platinum

Strategic partnership. Premier placement across all channels, input into challenge selection, priority recruitment access, and quarterly research briefings.

In-Kind

Non-Cash Support

Software licences, cloud credits, mentorship time, device access, or introductions to people who can help. Equally valued — reach out to discuss.

You don't need to give $150. You can give $10. Every amount — no matter how small — goes directly to a student. If you're unsure what works for you, just send us an email. We respond within 3 working days and will find a way to make it work.

The Research Code Academy Bootcamp — Cohort 1, June 2026.

This is not a classroom. It's a 12-week applied programme where selected students are assigned to real community problems and build working solutions. Every project starts with research. Every solution is built for the people who need it.

Participants are aged 16–35 from across Uganda. 30 of the 50 spots are reserved for women in tech — a deliberate commitment to closing the gender gap in technology. The bootcamp is fully online, running three days a week over 12 weeks.

Each team is assigned one of 6 community-submitted challenges — in health, education, agriculture, finance, environment, or civic life. By the end, every team presents a working, documented prototype at a public showcase.

The bootcamp is free for participants. It only happens because of partners and donors like you.
